1940’s Girl . . .
August 25, 2009
Taylor Swift captures her inner 1940’s girl and brings out a new look for Coca Cola.
During a photo shoot in the Notting Hill District in London, Taylor Swift donned flirty dresses, sassy tights and high shoes for Coca Cola’s vintage, retro style.
I loved her outfits, which can be found HERE at JustJared.com. This one is my favorite:
I love everything about this outfit, especially the lace tights.
Lace tights. Many would say, “stick to solid tights.” But I think the lace brings a whole different look to your outfit. So I say its a DO.
Now if I could only find me a pair of lace tights . . .

Bella’s Wedding Dress . . .
August 25, 2009
My friend E will be flipping out once she sees these pictures!
The sketches of Bella’s wedding gown have been designed by numerous designers including Lela Rose, Max Azria, Christian Siriano, Monique Lhuiller and others. And thanks to InStyle, we got a “sneak-peek!”
These however, are my favorite dresses out of the 10 sketches:
“You look like you just stepped out of an Austen movie,” – Bella’s Mother
Can’t wait to see what the end-result will look like in, what hopefully will be, Breaking Dawn: The Movie.
Till then . . .
Gossip Girl Returns with Splendor. . .
August 25, 2009
Attention fans of the books of Gossip Girl fans!
The 12th book of the Gossip Girl series, entitled I Will Always Love You written by Cecily von Ziegesar, is finally hitting book shelves on November 3rd!
My friend E had just bought Gossip Girl Season 2 and inside the DVD set, there is an excerpt of the latest book!! When I saw it, I got so excited! I started the Gossip Girl series when I was a sophomore in High School, turning friends and their friends onto the series as well. I read the books any chance I got, even in class. Reading behind a text book in class? I was a born pro.
But I was heartbroken when the series came to a stop. They were so addictive!! And I’m sure other fans of the books can agree.
Well now the wait is over, November 3rd can’t come soon enough!! And this time, the crew is back from College for the holidays, and who knows what is going to happen!
Here is the book synopsis thanks to Barnes and Noble:
“In this special deluxe hardcover, Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck, and Dan are all back from the Ivy Leagues and other adventures for a holiday break in the city. Has college changed anyone? What kind of hookups and breakups were going on while our favorite BFFs were apart… and what will happen now that they’re together again for the first time since the end of the original series?
I Will Always Love You follows Manhattan’s most fabulous teens through the four holiday breaks of their college years and into adulthood.
Not to fear, Gossip Girl will be there to dish all.”
While we’re on the topic of gossip, the 4th installment of The Luxe series Splendor written by Anna Godbersen, is arriving at bookstores on October 27th!
Following the latest book in the series Envy, readers are left with the unknown futures of Diana, Penelope, Elizabeth and Henry. I won’t say much about the series, to save from spoiling it for new readers, but take my blog for it, The Luxe is a enticing gossip-guilty book read, that centers itself in New York City circa 1900. If you can’t wait till November 3rd for Gossip Girl, check out Splendor!!
Till then . . .you know you love me,
JO
The Sartorialist’s Requirements? . . .
August 23, 2009
Is it weird or sad that I want to be featured in the Sartorialist’s blog? (I would like to consider it every fashionista’s dream, a milestone if you will…)
So what are the requirements?
Is it individualism? Uniqueness? Or the ability to transform the “runway” onto the streets?
So many questions, yet all of them unanswered. I guess you have to be at the right place, at the right time in your fashion best – without having the air of forceful effort.
It seems that all of the people featured in his blog have that air of simplicity, the look of, “I just threw this on and walked out the door.” Which is what I consider, the true art of fashion.
Also, what are the perks of being featured in The Sartorialist’s blog? Bragging rights? A modeling contract? Well I’m sure you won’t get offered a modeling contract, but one can hope
Till the day I am featured, I will have your answers…

Doll Shoes . . .
August 21, 2009
I was on the hunt today for a new pair of shoes. After I tried on countless shoes at DSW, I tried my luck at TJ MAX. Seeing as how I’m a size 9 1/2 or 10, my chances of finding a legit pair of shoes were slim. That is until I came across these Nina Doll shoes for $10!!
Sure they’re gold and different, but for some reason I love them – the price wasn’t bad either!!
They look vintage-y and I’m already matching them with the perfect outfit!!
What do you think of my “recession-friendly” shoes?
Gossip Girl Take 3 . . .
August 20, 2009
Thanks to The CW/Warner Bros, the latest photo shoot for Gossip Girl season 3 has been revealed!! (A bigger thanks to Oh No They Didn’t for showing the photo on their site.)
I can’t believe that it has been three years already for Gossip Girl. The cast looks great! I can’t wait to see how the plot works out and more importantly, what fashions the cast will be wearing!
- Till the premiere of Season 3 – you know you love me,
jonotjoe.
Do you remember, the September Issue . . .
August 20, 2009
The September Issue made its premiere tonight at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City!
Of course the most important woman of the night, Anna Wintour, made it out – with her signature glasses nonetheless…
Next Monday – Wintour is making an appearance on The Late Night Show with David Letterman, it will be her first appearance so make sure you watch it!!
More photos from the premiere HERE! (Oh No They Didn’t)
Here is the trailer for The September Issue - I can’t wait to watch it!
Elizabeth and James have “sole” . . .
August 20, 2009
The new Fall ‘09 collection of Elizabeth and James shoes (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s brand) are out – and I can’t help but drool over the leather, designs, straps and zippers that are embodied in each of these shoes. Their prices not “recession-friendly,” but they are effortlessly chic and dare I say, sassy.
No need for further explanation, have a look for yourself:

There’s more HERE!
I also ran into a couple pairs of the Elizabeth and James’ shoes featured in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar. They can be found to purchase at Saks Fifth Avenue…
Is it wrong that I’m considering saving for a pair? Mind you, a pair of E&J shoes can start from anywhere from $200 – on.
So if I start saving now. . .
