Wanting more of WR…

March 31, 2009

I love William Rast jeans (Justin Timberlake’s clothing line).  They are probably one of my favorite jeans I own.

Well, the other day when I was at NORDSTROM (my new favorite department store!) I ran into some of the clothes from his line, and this shirt for some reason stuck out to me.

Men’s clothing has the similar shirt too!  How do I know this?  Justin Timberlake was donning the shirt as well. Picture thanks to justjared.com:

Ah Justin, he is my favorite! I’ve always loved him since his N’SYNC days HAHA!!

yea… I went to their concert…numerous times :)

Speaking of music, have you heard of Ciara’s latest song featuring JT???

Lovely Sunday . . .

March 29, 2009

Coming home is so relaxing and warm.  Life just seems simple once you’re home.

Today, I got a delicious home-cooked meal which included my favorite: homemade pasta and sauce :) yumm

I also got to visit the NEW Nordstrom that just opened up nearby… I bought a shirt for $20 which made me very happy because A. it was reasonable and B. its orange!!

I am also left with an outstanding amount of work to do…and I better get started because I can’t procrastinate anymore :(

BUT the best part of working at home? I have my Bianca next to me . . .

Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday!

In black and studs….

March 29, 2009

Here is the latest photo of my girl VHUDG at the 2009 Kid’s Choice Awards.

I don’t know what I think of the look exactly….but I must say that I love the jean shorts.  Even if this outfit isn’t what I would normally love…VHUDG  pulls it off.

I also love how she plays with the jewerly!! All those bangles and bracelets and necklaces OH MY!

She looks put together, like she always does and it looks effortless.  I have to say…those boots are gorgeous!  I’m in love with studs right now…its started to take over my wardrobe.

VHUDG  isn’t afraid of taking risks with fashion and that is something that I love about her!!

What a fashionista :)

Laundry Day…

March 28, 2009

Saturdays are devoted to sleeping in, eating breaky and doing laundry.

I don’t mind doing laundry, I actually enjoy the domestic task.

Do you hate it?

Take my friend B’s advice, and I’m sure she’ll convince you that laundry can be fun! (PS. I actually jumped in B!)

Now, this Saturday’s laundry day was quite different than all the rest.  It started out like every Saturday’s trip to the Laundry Room. I split up my clothes from towels and sheets, from my everyday clothes (excluding whites.)  I turned on the water, threw in the necessary amount of detergent and started the washing cycle.

I went out to breakfast with my lovely friends and upon returning to our rooms, we each went into the Laundry Room and switched our clothes from washer to dryer.

While I was waiting for my clothes to dry, I went to my room and began writing a story (about Band-Aids…don’t ask)  After some time, I went back to the Laundry Room to put my clothes for another drying cycle.

Well, you won’t believe what I saw:

My CLOTHES/TOWELS/SHEETS were placed above my designated dryer, while another person’s clothes was enjoying the warmth and cycle of the dryer.  I stood there in disbelief.  I went to feel my clothes and surprise surprise… THEY WERE STILL DAMP!!

I opened the dryer door to find some guy’s clothes spilling out from MY dryer! Now of course, I don’t have personal ownership of the dryer, but if my clothes are inside the dryer and they’re still not 100% dry, then the dryer is STILL MINE.

Livid as I was, I noticed an empty dryer a bit further down, so I scooped up my DAMP clothes/towels/sheets and started a new drying cycle there.  As for my first dryer, I did NOT turn it back on.  That way, this guy’s clothes would stay damp until he came back to check on them.

Revenge.

Yet, I spoke too soon. After my clothes/towels/sheets were dried, I took them back up to my room and began folding. It was only a few minutes later that I discovered that I was missing one of my new items of clothing.  I began frantically looking through all the sheets and towels just in case it was stuck to one of them.

NO LUCK.

I was sure that it was in my first dryer and that that GUY left my item of clothing in the dryer.

Now I was livid.

So I raced back down to the Laundry Room, opened his dryer and began pulling EVERYTHING out of the dryer, searching for my item of clothing.  His clothes were still somewhat damp, but I didn’t care.  MY ITEM OF CLOTHING WAS MISSING!!!

With no luck, I left the room while leaving his belongings damp on top of the dryer…. karma

I stormed up the stairs to my room both angry and frustrated. WHY did it have to be my NEW item?? WHY??!!

As I was cooling down, I called my Madre to catch up on things and I got into the conversation about the dryer incident.  Then it hit me that I should either:  A. have a chat with this guy OR B. Leave him a note.

The possibility of me running into this guy was very slim, so I chose option B.

I took out a bright orange post-it and wrote the following:

NEXT TIME YOU EMPTY OUT A DRYER, MAKE SURE THE CLOTHES ARE DRY!!!

I went back down to the Laundry Room and neatly placed my note on top of his damp, smelly (even though they were washed) clothes.

Revenge. Again.

Once again I spoke to soon.  But it only made my revenge sweeter.

As I was putting my sheets back onto my bed, my “missing” item of clothing fell from the depths of the sheets onto my feet.

Revenge is sweet.

Beautiful….

March 27, 2009

Yay for spring!!

Today was a beautiful day, free of rain :)

I spent my day working, sitting outside having lunch with a few favorite people, class then back outside to enjoy iced coffees and a tête-à-tête with a few of my friends :)

Seeing as its “pay-day” I’m going to go out and SHOP!! I haven’t shopped in a while and I feel that I should splurge a bit.

So what should I buy today?

….I’m thinking flowy tops and airy dresses??

Getting Busy…

March 27, 2009

I knew it was coming. It was BOUND to hit me hard…

This week has been so easy-going and care-free…all I had to do was read my lovely book and meet with friends and drink coffee.   My classes were cancelled for the most part of the week, so I REALLY had a lot of down time.

BUT that is all about to end.  This upcoming week, I have an onslaught of papers to write, books to read and TONS of research to do.

This needs to be done all before I go to the FIRST EVER: ED CONFERENCE!! Which is taking place in New York City from April 2-5. ed-conf-logo-fullthumbnail

I’m both excited and nervous!! I don’t know what to expect, but I DO know that I will be touring various magazine offices and getting great advice on how to break into the business.

This will be epic….just not the tons of papers I have to write :(

If anyone else is going to the 1st Annual Ed Conference, feel free to comment :)

Can’t wait to meet all you amazing ED girls!!

Rainy Thursday….

March 26, 2009

It’s raining.

rainy_days_by_doorstopphotos1

You would think that I wore my HUNTERS today…but I didn’t :( This morning it wasn’t raining when I was going to work, so I donned my patent-cream BR flats.  Halfway through the day, it started to rain…and all I had on were my flats and my bubble umbrella.  I missed a perfectly rainy day to wear my HUNTERS, oh well.

It’s spring so I can count on more rainy days…

But what was lovely about my day was I got to spend the majority of it in the library reading a romantic and witty  book written by Anne Brontë.  It made me smile.  The day only got better by indulging in cappuccinos and toasted bagels with my lovely LIT499/coffee girls :)

What did you do on your rainy day?

If you haven’t read my first blog-entry yet, have a little look.

NEWS from stepheniemeyer.com!!! The New Moon wolf pack has been casted :) And you’ll be glad to know that VHUDG was not casted as one of the wolves.  I mean, I love the girl don’t get me wrong!! BUT she would NOT have been the best choice for a wolf…

Think about it…HSM Sweetheart turns into Wolf??

Anyways, here is the cast!! I’m so excited :) GO  HERE for more details

Wolf Pack Cast

Wolf Pack Cast

Here is an excerpt from the site:

  • Taylor Lautner: Jacob Black
  • Chaske Spencer: Sam Uley
  • Tyson Houseman: Quil Ateara
  • Alex Meraz: Paul
  • Kiowa Gordon: Embry Call
  • Bronson Pelletier: Jared
  • Tinsel Korey: Emily

We don’t have confirmation on the ones in bold yet, so take it as rumor till further confirmed. We confirmed Tyson Houseman and Alex Meraz for sure earlier, and Bronson Pelletier seems to be confirmed.

So far, the casting for New Moon is perfect. For instance, Dakota Fanning was the person I imagined Jane to be. They are doing a great job :)   I can’t wait for the movie!!

PS. I hope everyone got their copy of Twilight the DVD. My friends and I indulged in the “extras.”  All I have to say is…Chinchilla droppings…
