Disturbed Disturbia…

August 16, 2008

So I just watched Rihanna’s new music video for “Disturbia” and I’m pretty disturbed.  Like whhaat! It was creepy, weird, freaky and scary.  I mean I guess that’s what the producers wanted the video to feel like, but talk about creep-a-leek!

Despite the video being 100% Thriller-esq, but taken to a whole new level, she looked good…in some scenes.  She was wearing some crazy cool shoes, like platform heals and the gladiator scandals that reach up to your knees. That was what I liked most about her video … her shoes haha!

The song is great, its ideal Dance Party music, but the radio is overplaying it!  Like sometimes I’ll hear it on 2 different stations at the same time! Like I’m tired of it already, and its a shame because its such a good song.

Anyways, enough of me blogging on about this, check the video out for yourselves and let me know what you think!

Jooo

What difference does a fingernail make?

Well to Michael Phelps, the difference is a GOLD MEDAL.

Once again, Michael Phelps makes history, he won the 100M Butterfly by .01 seconds, while sharing the record with Mark Spitz’s record of 7 total gold medals in a single Olympics.

Watching the race was gut-wrenching, and it was SO CLOSE that the Serbian Federation filed a written protest to FINA to challenge the result.  After watching the video of the finish, the officials decided to stop the protest, seeing as how Phelps won the race fair and in an a fingertip’s reach.

As for Mark Spitz, he and Phelps had a little heart to heart which was soo cute.

“What you did tonight was epic,” Spitz told Phelps. “I never thought you were out of that race. That is a tribute to your greatness. We’re so proud of you. I am happy to keep company with you.” -via NBC

And I have to agree with Spitz, Michael Phelps is the greatest Olympian of all time. Congrats Michael!!

A delay?!?!

August 16, 2008

WHAT IS THIS!

I just read the new Entertainment Weekly with Harry Potter featured on the cover.  I read the article and I got REALLY excited for November 21st.

WELL, imagine my hysteria when I learn that Warner Brothers decided to DELAY the release of the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince until July 2009.

The reason for this delay? MONEY AND SELFISHNESS. Warner Brothers (WB) believes that they will make more money if they release the movie in the summer.

After reading Entertainment Weekly, I kind of sensed why they decided this.  In the article, they were raising the question on whether audiences will be interested in the films since the series is over. MY opinion is, OF COURSE THEY WILL BE INTERESTED! Every fan of Harry Potter wants to see the movie adaption of the series, and how the book will be portrayed on the big screen.  Those who have not read the novels, still want to see what happens to Harry, so I’m sure they will continue watching the movies.

As I was reading TimesOnline over this topic of MAD DISCUSSION, someone brought up a very interesting point, that WB is afraid of the movie TWILIGHT beating them at the box offices.  That’s a tough call, I’m sure TWILIGHT will do well in the box offices, seeing as how readers are raving about the novels…

Well, this delay is just “rubbish!” Maybe WB should have thought of that before they chose the release date of the movie, the trailer and all of the publicity that followed.

Part of me is furious, the other is part of me is kind of relieved because I would not have been able to watch the midnight showing, seeing as how my education rules my life. So I guess its a win-lose situation, but I’m more mad at the fact that I have to wait LONGER! ugh. The trailer is a complete teaser now…and every time I see it, I’m going to cry.

boo. I guess I’ll talk to you Potter fans in July :(

blog to you then -joo
