Lea Michele . . .

My Favorite Fashionista Moment:

Lea Michele (GLEE) attended the New Moon premiere in L.A back in November in a stunning strapless black  Shoshana L leather dress by Theory. Safe to say she is making her way into my Favorite Fashionistas list. . .

With the weekend coming up – I am in need of a sassy frock of sorts.  I personally love this strapless leather dress – and this Express look-alike  seems promising.

Any dress suggestions for the weekend?

Eclipse Movie Poster . . .

December 3, 2009

Okay. This will be my last Twilight inspired post from now on – till of course, the nearing of July 30th.

Are you as excited as I am?

AND curious to know . . . how many times have you seen New Moon since its release?

I will admit – I’ve seen it twice, yet I have every intention of seeing it again.

We all know my infatuation with Madewell 1937 – with its sweaters, skinny jeans and leather boots – I can’t help but fall in love with the store.  I honestly make a trip to the King of Prussia Mall – just for this store.

And no. I am not ashamed.

Their latest  line of heavy knit cardigans, sweater scarves and tights for this winter season – is enough to go gaga over.  I fully intend to take a day trip to KOP- just to get my hands on those tights and cardigans. Because really, a girl can never have too many cardigans. . .

TO WINTER:

Northern Lights Cardigan

I love this heavy knit sweater from Madewell.

Looks so wintry – and warm.

If you don’t have a Madewell nearby – you’re in luck – just recently, J.Crew’s fashion director, Jenna Lyons, picked out some of her favorite pieces for “Jenna’s Picks” from the Madewell collection – and made them available on J. Crew’s site!  There are only a few items posted – but nevertheless – Madewell is on J.Crew!  [FabSugar]

I’m all about wool sweaters, fleece socks, boots, scarves and coffee this month – but I can’t help but gosh over the Spring 2010 preview of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s line – Elizabeth and James. Thanks to FabSugar – I got a sneak peek at the line – and I’m in love with the leather and silk numbers.

Here’s a peek:

Spring.  Light fabrics – adorned with buttery-leather – it’s going to be a tasteful season.

Till then – let us enjoy the heavy wool layers – as we dream about our 2010 wardrobes..

A Thankful Thanksgiving . . .

November 29, 2009

Hello dear readers,

I hope you all had a stuffing Thanksgiving – full of family, friends and of course, turkey.  My Thanksgiving was all about food and spending time with family and playing the game of LIFE (Spongebob-Squarepants Edition), foosball and of course dodgeball with my little cousins.   In case you were wondering, I won at LIFE, but lost in foosball…and dodgeball.

I also ate too much pie – cherry, coconut, pumpkin, banana-cream and apple pie.  All with a side of vanilla ice cream.

The question of what am I thankful for -  is simple:  Family – my amazing friends – and the endless opportunities that are open to me.

So, what are you thankful for?

For LIT Lovers . . .

November 24, 2009

I recently walked into Anthropologie last week and instead of falling in love with a sweater or a dress – my eyes caught on the ornaments of a nearby coffee table: books. These weren’t just any type of books – they were hardcover, cloth-bound, reprinted Penguin Classics adorned with elegant designs stretching from top -to-bottom.

The set of hardcovers include Great Expectations, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Sense and Sensibility, The Picture of Dorian Gray and Cranford.

For every lit lover -  these books would be the perfect addition to your bookshelf and collection of literary classics.  Also, THE CUT featured a post regarding these books – and mentioned that they are also available at amazon.com! Perfect timing for the holidays . . . just an idea . . . hint.hint.hint.

You know when you’re a LIT Lover when you go into Anthropologie and want nothing but . . . books.

2010 Movie Previews . . .

November 23, 2009

What’s the best part of going out to the movies – besides watching the movie -with popcorn and candy in hand?

The Previews!

As I sat waiting to watch New Moon this past weekend – I got a glimpse of three new movies that I’m excited to see.  Two of which include my favorite: Amanda Seyfried (from Mamma Mia!).

The first movie, Letters to Juliet caught me off guard- emotionally.  The film centers around the city of Verona, Italy – Juliet’s statue/balcony – and the letters of love addressed to Juliet.  I have once visited the city and saw Juliet’s statue a couple years ago, and the preview  reminded me of Verona’s beauty. I only wish I could go visit again!

The movie is due on in May 2010 – a perfect time of year to make a trip to Italy. . .

The other Seyfried movie, Dear John, is with Channing Tatum and is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel- so automatically we all know it will be a sob-fest.  Naturally, this movie is due out in February 2010 – near Valentine’s Day  – how fitting.

Be prepared to bring tissues to the theater.

Lastly, the novel The Lovely Bones written by Alice Sebold, is coming to the big screen – and I’m excited yet terrified to watch it.  The cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement). The Lovely Bones has been one of those books that has both haunted and intrigued me.  Aspects of the book have stayed with me – in the corner of my mind – and that to me is what makes the book.  Having the ability to shock and remain with the reader demonstrates how powerful a well-written book can be.

The preview gives me goosebumps . . . its due out January 2010.

2010 looks like a promising year for the box office!
